A precise casting process used to fabricate nearly net-shaped metal parts from almost any alloy. The process begins with the creation of a wax pattern of the part using a die. The wax parts are attached to a runner system or tree. The trees are dipped or invested in to a slurry compound and a strong yet porous shell is formed around the wax tree. The wax is then removed from the tree leaving a hollow shell that is filled with molten metal. The shell is removed, the parts are separated, cleaned and shipped.
